The patented immobilization system aims to enhance the quality of life for patients by addressing existing challenges posed by conventional immobilization systems. Additionally, it seeks to reduce costs and improve efficiency for healthcare professionals.

The design incorporates organic forms with rounded openings that facilitate water and moisture evacuation, ensuring comfort against the skin. This innovative approach not only enhances patient comfort but also assists physiotherapists in rehabilitation tasks from the day of application, as well as during wound care and monitoring in post-operative scenarios.

This immobilization system is specifically engineered to prevent skin irritation and itching. Its lightweight design enables users to maintain a normal lifestyle, allowing for regular showering and the ability to wear clothing without significant alterations, provided they are not excessively tight.

The XKELET immobilization products have received certification from both European health authorities and the FDA. The materials used are biocompatible and conform to the ISO 13485 standard.

A specialized software tool has been developed for scanning body parts, extracting anthropometric data, and automatically creating immobilizations for production via 3D printing technology. This software necessitates the use of an iPad in conjunction with a STRUCTURE scanner. Furthermore, Xkelet has engineered a protective case that optimizes the ergonomic positioning of these devices, ensuring stability and grip on flat surfaces.

The software is tailored for orthopedic and trauma treatment applications, integrating design value into each manufactured piece while offering user-friendly tools for medical specialists.

The scanning process involves collecting point cloud data from limb scans using the TrueDepth API, which is then transformed into a mesh for crafting personalized immobilization solutions. While third-party users can view the scanner outputs, they do not have permissions to download or modify these files. All scanner data is securely stored in Google Cloud Storage.
